UPDATE: After finishing reading and working through the book, the author suggested looking into MINDFULNESS. I am now reading through the book a book I've selected on the topic, and will add my notes here as I work through it. The book I selected is Mindfulness For Dummies, 2010. By Shamash Alidina.
